How It HappenedÂ
    Franciscan traveled to Washington, Penn. to compete in a Tri-Match. Their first game of the day, was against Washington & Jefferson(W&J). Franciscan has never defeated W&J. In the first set, Franciscan looked ready to get their first win against the PAC opponent. Franciscan had 8 kills en route to winning the first set. W&J had a few runs in the second, set to handily win the set and tie the game 1-1. Franciscan fired back in the third set. The 11 kills from the team and an ace from Brynn Jacobson, led the Lady Barons to bounce right back and handily win the third set 25-13. Franciscan only needing one more set win to win the game, was unable to close out the victory and dropped the fourth and fifth set.Â

How It HappenedÂ
    Franciscan came into Saturday's contest on a 10-game winning streak vs Waynesburg. Franciscan would extend their streak to 11 after a victory in 5 sets. The first set was back and forth for the beginning. The score was tied 18-18, but a small run by Waynesburg put them ahead 22-18. Franciscan would eventually drop the first set to Waynesburg. Renee Antonelli was dialed in for the second set, being very active around the net. She recorded 2 aces and a kill in the second set to help Franciscan win a close set 25-23. Waynesburg would take the third set 25-23. With great front-line play, Franciscan would take the 4th and 5th sets to seal the win.Â

Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will travel to Grove City, Penn. on Thursday, September 30th to face Grove City College at 7:00pm. Last season's match, Franciscan lost to Grove City in three sets. Renee Antonelli had 8 kills and Emily Nutter had 13 assists. These two players have been performing far above those numbers the last few games. Antonelli and Nutter will look to continue their recent performance, and defeat Grove City for the first time since joining the PAC.
