How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Volleyball climbed their record back to .500 at 7-7 with a four set win on Monday night against Mount Aloysius. This was Franciscan's first win since 2017 over the Mounties, who they used to play every year when they both belonged to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

It was all Franciscan to start this one, as Luebbers and Francis earned kills in the early going to set the score at 4-2. Luebbers would keep it up with a pair of kills on a Franciscan 5-0 run to take a commanding 9-2 lead. After a couple of points from the Mounties, Antonelli and Hebert would add kills to keep the lead at seven points. Everyone would involved in the offense, as Disslekamp grabbed her first kill to stretch the lead to nine at 16-7. The lead would get up to ten points, but then the Mounties would fight back to pull within five at 22-17. Francis and Disselkamp would close this one out for Franciscan, as a 3-0 run would end set one.

The Mounties started off stronger in set two, as they held a 7-5 lead after a back and forth beginning. Antonelli would then add three kills over the Barons next four points to tie it up at 9-9. Mount Aloysius would then go on a 4-0 run to take their largest lead of the night. The Barons would battle all the way back to retake the lead at 16-15. Then a 9-3 run would ensue for the Mounties to take the second set and tie it all up at one set apiece.

Set three felt the same as set two in the early goings, as the Mounties once again had a 7-5 lead. The Barons would tie it back up at 9-9 with Disselkamp adding a pair of kills. Franciscan quickly flipped the script with a 7-2 run that included a pair of aces from Gabrielle Disselkamp. The Barons would control the set for the rest of the way. Gracie Francis had several timely kills from the her middle position that would seem to keep the momentum on Franciscan's side. The Barons took the third set by a score of 25-21.

Mount Aloysius once again jumped out to an early lead, this time at 5-3. The Barons answered with a 6-0 run that Meghan Hickey served for, including one ace for her. The Barons would continue to hold a comfortable lead, as the score would be 15-11. The Barons pulled away with a 5-0 run that included a pair of aces from Disselkamp. Sara Moore would add another ace in a late 4-0 run that would do everything but close this one out, as the Barons would win 25-18 to take the non-conference win.

Inside the Numbers
- Antonelli, Luebbers, and Disselkamp all registered double-digit kills.
- Six kills for Gracie Francis was a new season best for her.

Who's Next?
Franciscan returns to PAC play on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Steubenville Big Red High School, as Bethany comes to town. This is a rematch, as these two teams played each other on September 22nd in a non-conference matchup. The Bison were able to win in straight sets at home, but the Barons hope to make some adjustments for a more favorable result on Wednesday.
