Holecek Leads Barons at Carlow

McKeesport, Pa. - The Franciscan Women's Golf traveled to Youghigheny Country Club for the first time in program history on Wednesday to take on Carlow University. 

How it Happened
The Barons were led by Madeline Holecek who carded a 112 in her first round at Carlow's home track. Therese Villarin carded a 116, and Elisabeth Condon shot a 122 in her Franciscan debut. The Barons would fall to the Celtics by a score of 402 to 500. Emilee Miller was the medalist with a round of 91. 

Up Next
Franciscan will now prepare for the first two rounds of the PAC Championship which will be played at Avalon Squaw Creek on October 12th-13th. This will be the third year in a row that the Barons have played this course as part of the PAC Championship. This will be the first two rounds of a 72 hole PAC Championship. The final 36 holes will be played in April. Last fall Gia Hooper carded a pair of sub-90 rounds on this course with an 86 and 89. Hooper and her teammates will look to have their play peak at the last fall event of the season.
