How It Happened
In what was a very anticipated matchup, the fighting Franciscan Barons take down the mighty Westminster Titans with a 2-0 victory.
In an edgy match versus the Titans, the Barons faced much adversity throughout the game. Despite this however, they overcame this through their persevering spirit and Christian attitude on the field.
Assisted by midfielder Bella Rubino, Tania Davidson sunk the ball in for the first goal of the game in the 7th minute of the game. Then lighting struck once more when Davidson sunk another shot into the back of the net for the second goal of the game in the 27th minute of the game.
The offense had a thunderous performance but so did Sophomore goalkeeper Bri Dechristopher as she locked it down behind the defense while preserving the shutout and recording 13 saves.
Although the Barons had less shots on goal and shots overall, they connected with the goal when they needed to score the most. With the monstrous win versus the Titans, the Barons now sit at the top of the President Athletics Conference with a record of 4-0-1.

Inside the Numbers
-In her first career start Bri DeChristopher grabbed 13 saves tying for the 8th best game performance all-time
-Tania Davidson's 2 goals gives her the sole lead in goals in the PAC. Her 13 goals so far this season is second most by a Baron in a season all-time. She is four goals away from the title of most goals scored in a season
-Bella Rubino's assist is her 2nd on the season
-Tonight's victory is the second time the Barons have defeated the Titans and first time on the road.

Who's Next?
Franciscan returns home for a Saturday afternoon matchup against Washington & Jefferson. The Barons are in search of their first win all-time against the Presidents, as they hold a 0-12-2 record against them since 2008. The Presidents come into this game with a winning record of 3-2-5, five being the most ties of any school in the conference. They are 2-1-2 in conference play thus far with a tie against Waynesburg by a score of 0-0 in their last matchup. Whoever comes out with the win in this one will have a strong hold of a top four position in the league standings.
