Franciscan 9, Thiel 0

Greenville, Pa. - The Franciscan Women's Tennis team improved to 5-1 in PAC play with a 9-0 sweep of Thiel on Wednesday afternoon. 

Doubles
     The Barons played their normal top three pairs in doubles play on Wedesday. First off the court was the #1 doubles pair of Maria Herrera and Olivia Colby, who secured an 8-1 win. Claire Cardie and Kina Ehlers then secured the win at #3 doubles by a score of 8-2. Then getting the third point at #3 doubles was the pair of Haley Davinsizer and Estelle Leon. 

Singles
    The Barons would continue to show their dominance in singles play. Maria Herrera did not drop a point in #1 singles to maintain her undefeated conference singles record. Kina Ehlers, Claire Cardie, and Haley Davinsizer all had the same success of winning 6-1, 6-1. Olivia Colby picked up a nice win at #2 singles to get her conference singles record back to above .500 at 3-2 on the year. Estelle Leon would make it a clean sweep, as she won at #6 singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Next Up
Franciscan was supposed to head to Muskingum on Thursday, but that match was just recently postponed. Instead the Barons will prepare for a matchup against Grove City at home at 1pm on Saturday. Both teams are tied for second in the PAC with a 5-1 conference record, so the winner of this match will secure the #2 seed and a bye in next week's PAC Championship Tournament.
