How It Happened 
Franciscan Women's Volleyball headed to Washington & Jefferson for a PAC conference matchup with the Presidents. This was the third time that these two teams have faced each other this season, and the Presidents would earn the win in three close-fought sets. 

In set one, Rani Hebert would get Franciscan's first kill to set the score at 2-1. Then the Presidents score 11 unanswered points to take a commanding 12-2 lead. Renee Antonelli snapped the run with her first kill of the day. The Barons would slowly battle their way back into the set. Gabrielle Disselkamp would get her first two kills, and Gracie Francis picked up one to set the score at 16-8. Hebert would go on a personal 3-0 run with a kill and two aces to pull to within four at 20-16. Luebbers would get going late in the set with a pair of kills as well to keep it close, as the Barons pulled to withing two at 24-22, but the Presidents were able to close out the first set. 

Antonelli and Disslekamp led the Franciscan offensive threat to start set two, but the Barons would not be able to neutralize the opposing offense. The Presidents build an early 13-6 lead. The Barons were able to cut it to a four point deficit at 14-10, but they would not be able to get any closer. A couple of timely kills by the Presidents would keep the momentum on their side to win the second set by a score of 25-19. 

The Presidents jumped out to another early lead, this time at 9-4. The Barons would not quit though, as a 6-1 run would tie this match up at 10-10. The Barons kept battling in a close fought set, as they would be tied at 14, 19, and 20 points. At 20-20, the Presidents would pull away with a 3-0 run. Luebbers and Hebert added late kills, but the Presidents would win the final set by a score of 25-22.

Inside the Numbers 
- With 12 kills, Renee Antonelli became the 5th Baron to have over 700 kills in her career, as she has 707 so far. 
- Rani Hebert led the team with three aces. 
- Sara Moore had another 20+ dig game with 22 on the day.
- Grace Wallace had 26 set assists, while Elizabeth Libel added eight. 

Who's Next? 
Franciscan will return home to face Chatham on Tuesday evening at STEUBENVILLE CATHOLIC CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL. These two teams played each other earlier in a non-conference matchup with the Cougars winning in straight sets. That gives the Cougars win in the last three matchups against the Barons, but the Barons hold a 13-6 edge in the all-time series. Franciscan's last win came in the 2020-21 season when they upset the Cougars with a straight sets win.
