How It Happened
Franciscan hosted Westminster on Kuzma Community Day in front of our largest crowd of the season. The Lady Barons gave the fans a close game, as it was a five point game heading into the fourth quarter, but the Titans prevailed.

Both teams started off slow in the first quarter, as it was 4-4 through the first three minutes. Madison Doan scored four of her team-high 18 points in the first quarter, as the Lady Barons trailed 12-6 through the first ten minutes. Felicia MacGillivray would make her first three pointer of the day in the second quarter, and Doan added another jumper to set it at a five point game three minutes into the second quarter. Jazzlyn Melnyk would help keep it at a five point margin when she dropped a three pointer of her own. A Westminster 9-2 run would give them a 32-18 lead at the half.

The Lady Barons offense came out hot in the second half, as an early 5-1 run tightened the gap. Madison Doan sparked a 12-0 run later in the quarter that pulled the Lady Barons to within four at 39-35. The Titans would only score eight points in the third quarter, and we would have a five point game heading to the fourth. The Lady Barons were shutout of the fourth until Ilena Gonzales made a pair of free throws. Gonzales also added a three pointer later in the quarter to help keep Franciscan in this one. The Titans eventually took control and would go on to win this one.
