Doubles
  Franciscan men fell behind during doubles play. The #2 pair of
Aidan Howard and
Josh Robbins finished first losing by four points. The top pair of
Travis Mistry and
Gary Pierre faired slightly better getting 6 points, but they also lost their match. The #3 pair of
Billy Presume and
Leo Morella were the only doubles pair to win their match. Springfield put up a good fight, but Presume and Morella held on and prevented the Springfield sweep of doubles play.Â
Singles
 Â
Leo Morella hitting at the #6 spot, picked up the first team point for Franciscan in singles play. Morella took the second set handily, forcing the 3rd tie-break set. Morella held on to his momentum, and won the 3rd set, winning his match. In the #4 spot,
Josh Robbins lost his match in two sets.
Billy Presume had a quick match against Springfield's #3. Presume lost his match in the second set.
Aidan Palladino, playing at the #5 spot, took 8 games from his opponent, but was unable to win a set and force a tie-break.
Travis Mistry found success in singles play. Mistry took the first set with ease, then finished the second set strong to win his match.
Gary Pierre took on Springfield's Sablon, as either team's top hitters it was a high-quality match and a chance for Pierre to get revenge on Sablon from doubles play. Pierre won 8 games, but it wasn't enough to win a set or the match.Â
Who's Next?Â
The Barons conclude their play in Florida on Friday against University of Wisconsin-Superior. This will be the first time these two schools will play each other in tennis.
