Doubles
The Barons doubles lineups consisted of; #1's
Gary Pierre and Travis Misry, #2's
Josh Robbins and
Aidan Howard, #3's
Billy Presume and
Leo Morella. The #1 and #2 doubles each won their matches to put the Barons up 2-0. In a very rare occurrence, the #3's of Morella and Presume lost their doubles match. This is only the second time all year these two have lost while playing together. That is quite an accomplishment considering they were the #3 pairing for all but a few games this season. Going into singles play Franciscan was leading 2-1.
Singles
Travis Mistry finished his match first as the Barons #2 hitter. Mistry has come into his own this season in the #2 spot, winning PAC player of the week and rookie of the week. Mistry won the Barons 3rd point in two sets only dropping 3 games. However, the next 4 Baron singles matches all went to Saint Vincent. With the conclusion of the #5 singles match, that went to a third tiebreak set, the Bearcats scored their 5th point to seal the victory and defeat the Barons.
This concludes the 2021-2022 season. The Barons will be back with non-conference play in the Fall.
