Barons Feeling the Loss of Key Players

Franciscan 63, Allegheny 102

Franciscan Starters
Malachi Rose-Burton, Yann Yonkeu, Colton Hage, Nicholas Allienello, Aidan Hickey

Allegheny Starters
Hinckley, Turk, Lang, Barker, Wilder

How It Happened
The Barons have gone through some trials and tribulations this season. The loss of 5th year senior Travis Lien, Tristan McDannell, Ben Klement, and today Josh Zimmerman was too much to overcome tonight. Aidan Hickey continues to be the engine that keeps the team chugging. Hickey has scored double digits in 5 of the last 6 games playing over 20 minutes a game. The team is continuing to see some young players progress and take advantage of the opportunities the personnel losses are providing.

Inside the Numbers
-The Barons had 7 turnovers in the first half, but only 1 in the second. One of the best games all year in that stat
-The Barons shot over 30% from the 3pt line for the second game in a row.
-The bench scored 22 points
-Aidan Hickey led the Barons in scoring with 15

Up Next
Franciscan will return home to take on Grove City on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. These two teams played each other in the end of November with the Wolverines sneaking out with a five point lead. The Barons stated slow, but responded with 50 points in the second half to just fall short at 78-83. Travis Lien scored a game-high 30 points and Colton Hage had 20 in the battle at Grove City. Franciscan has beat Grove City in their last two trips to Steubenville.
