Women's Volleyball Battles Wolverines on the Road

Franciscan 0, Saint Vincent 3

Franciscan Starters
Gracie Francis, Cassidy McCollum,  Rani Hebert, Annelise Davis,  Grace Wallace, Mary Jean Cadman, & libero - Sara Moore

How It Happened
Franciscan made the trip up north to Grove City on Saturday afternoon for a conference matchup against the Wolverines. The Barons were looking to keep up their success from Tuesday night at Saint Vincent where they swept the Bearcats, but today would be the opposite, as the Wolverines swept the Barons.

The Wolverines would start out well in the opening set, as they built a 15-7 lead. Hebert added a pair of kills and an ace to help the Barons come back to within three at 19-16. Unfortunately the Wolverines would step on the gas to pull away and take the first set 25-18. Cadman and McCollum would get the offense going in the second set, as the Barons would be in this set late. McCollum even had back to back kills with the Wolverines at set point, but Grove would find the 25th point to take the second. The third would be all Wolverines after a big early run, as Grove City would win in three sets.

Inside the Numbers
- Davis led the Barons with 10.0 points and eight kills.
- Wallace had 22 of Franciscan's 26 set assists.
- McCollum led the Barons with 14 digs, a new career-high.

Who's Next?
Franciscan will return home to take on Waynesburg on Wednesday night at Finnegan Fieldhouse. This is a rematch from earlier this season when the Barons were able to win in four sets. Franciscan has had the upper-hand more often than not against Waynesburg, as they hold a 13-3 record against them dating back to 2009. This is a pivotal matchup, as both teams are trying to break into the PAC playoff picture in a very crowded conference.
