Short Story:Â The Barons continue to show improvement and progress at the PAC Championship
Race Highlights
The Franciscan Men's Cross Country Team made their second trip to Thiel of the 2023 season on Saturday. This time the stakes were a little higher for the PAC Championships with all 11 member schools in attendance. The Barons would not be able to win their sixth straight conference championship today, but a lot of new personal records were set in route to a seventh place finish for the Barons.
Conal Delaney led the way with a 10th place finish. His time of 26:37.82 was a new season-best time for the junior.
Seamus Sommers shattered his personal record time by over a minute, as he placed 32nd with a time of 27:46.87 in the 8K race.
Andrew Madigan was not far behind him in 35th. Freshman
Anthony Pucillo kept up his steady improvement with a new personal record time in 56th place. Rounding out the top-five finishers for Franciscan would be
Nathaniel Tokarsky. That would result in 164 points for a seventh place finish.Â
Saint Vincent would take home the Championship with 56 team points to win by 15 points over Washington & Jefferson. Kevin Arsenaux from Geneva would win the race individually with a time of 25:52.44.Â

Up Next
Franciscan will now prepare for the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet on November 11th. This will be another return trip, as it will be ran at the same course that the Barons opened the season at for the Tommy Evans Invitational. The Barons will make the trip to Norton, Ohio, which will be their closest trip for a NCAA Regional Meet since 2011 when Oberlin hosted. The Men are slated to start at 11 am with the Women to follow at noon.
