Meet Information - Race/Location: Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble; Oberlin College North Athletic Fields and Community Trail; Oberlin, Ohio
Short Story: After a snooze on the bus and some shivers in the Oberlin wind, the Barons raced at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. The meet was split into four races: Varsity Women's, Varsity Men's, and two open races with the women starting and the men wrapping up. Although most came in expecting the flat course and cold breeze, little did they know that they would be treading through 4-inch mud. With great leaders cheering them on, the cross country team persevered through the challenge and finished the race.
Race Highlights: On October 17th, the Franciscan cross country teams had their last meet before the PAC conference meet in two weeks. In the varsity races, the women finished 8th out of 22 teams with 238 points, while the men finished 13th out of 19 teams with 341 points. In the open races, the women finished 4th out of 7 teams, while the men finished, while the men finished 17th out of 17 teams.
Not only did the team finish with a good standing to prepare for conference, many individuals got their season records at Oberlin. For the women, Karoline Barner, Maria Eusebio, Charlotte Gauntner, Mary Kennedy, Madeline Kramer, Avery Laughlin, Natalie Meyer, Eirelyn Myers, Katherine Ptak, Anna Steimle, and Mary (Yile) Wang all had their best race of the season. For the men, Nicholas Besachio, Matthew Correll, John Marchinda, Luke Meli, Joe Petitte, David Steimle, and Callum Wallenfang also had their season records.
