Franciscan 0, Allegheny 9
Vienna, Ohio -Â Franciscan Men's Tennis opened up conference play against the newest member to the PAC, Allegheny. The Gators were were predicted to finish first in the PAC from the Coaches' Preseason Poll, and they showed their talents today with a 9-0 win over the Barons. The match was moved indoors to Avalon Squaw Creek with rain in the forecast.Â
How It Happened
   At #1 doubles,
Travis Mistry and
Aidan Palladino fell by a score of 8-1. Just for the second time all season, the Sabol brothers paired up in a doubles match. This was the first time at the #2 spot, but they fell by a score of 8-2.
James Scanlon and
Callahan Hecton continued to show improvement at #3 doubles but fell 8-3. The same six players that played in doubles, played in singles play.
James Scanlon had the closest matches of the Barons, as he fell 6-2, 6-3.Â
Next Up
Franciscan will continue PAC play on Tuesday at home against Westminster. They will have three conference contests over the next 10 days before they will take Easter break. The Barons are 5-0 all-time against the Titans, including a 5-4 win last season.
Travis Mistry helped pick up two points in that win with great play at #1 singles and doubles.Â
