How It Happened
Franciscan baseball made the trip to Thiel on Saturday afternoon for a conference doubleheader against the Tomcats. The hosts would jump out to an early 4-0 lead thanks to a crooked number in the second inning. The Barons racked up eight hits on the day, but would leave nine on base, as they would not be able to reach home plate in game one. The Tomcats would tack on some insurance runs late to win by a score of 9-0

At the Plate
- All eight Franciscan hits were singles.
- Falconite, Burke, and Izzo all had two hits each
- Thiel's Seth Johnson was a double short of a cycle

On the Mound
- Starter Jeremy Sagun pitched five innings while striking out a pair.
- Joseph Hurlbert allowed one run over two innings of relief.
- Jonathan Perez pitched the eight inning.

How It Happened
Game two the Barons flipped the script, as they would put up a crooked number in the second inning to take an early lead. Falconite drove in Stoehr, before Sacavnicky knocked in Ferrance. To make it 3-0, Brendan Burke ripped a double to center to bring Scavnicky home. The Barons' offense was not done, as Ferrnace would drive in Izzo in the third to set the score at 4-0.

Izzo would have his A game on the mound as well. The senior pitched into the seventh inning with just one earned run to earn his second win of the season. It would be a three run game heading into the ninth, and the Barons would add some insurance.

Falconite doubled in Ferrnace to expand the lead to 5-1. Scavnicky continues his stellar day with a 2-RBI single to the opposite field to score Hall and Falconite. Charlie Sabol would grab the last RBI to give us our final score of 8-1.

At the Plate
- Scavnicky had three hits and three RBIs.
- Ferrance also had three hits.
- The Barons had three sacrifice hits.
- The Tomcats were held to just four hits.

On the Mound
- Starter Jesse Izzo earned the win with a 6.2 inning performance.
- Charlie Sabol and Jacob Watson combined to pitch 2.1 innings of scoreless relief.

Up Next
The Barons will not have much time to rest, as they return to action on the road Monday at Muskingum for a non-conference doubleheader. The Barons split their home and home series last year with the Fighting Muskies. This season both games are at Muskingum after the single game scheduled at Franciscan was rained out earlier this season.
