How It Happened
The Franciscan Men's Lacrosse season came to an end on Saturday after a battle against Allegheny.
It would be all Gators to start this one, as they scored the first eight goals of the game. Samuel Marshall put Franciscan on the board as the clock expired to give us an 8-1 game going into the second quarter. The Barons would look much better in the second quarter on offense and defense. Dominic Scordino be the first of four different goal scorers to find the back of the net for Franciscan this quarter. Gavin Cook and Nicholas Sando would score back to back goals to help tighten the gap. Then in the final seconds once again, Franciscan would make the Gators pay, as Richard Vale II scored. That would give us a halftime score of 11-5.
The Gators would answer with four goals in four minutes to start the second half with three coming from Seabold. Samuel Marshall would earn his second goal of the day to end the third quarter with a score of 15-6. The Barons would show some heart in the fourth, as they would win the final 15 minutes. Michael Francis would score an amazing no-look goal as he started with the ball behind the net and surprised everyone as he ran to above the crease. Samuel Marshall would earn the other two goals with one being a man-down goal. That would be the second goal this season, that the Barons have scored with a man-down. The Gators would earn the 17-9 win, as they head to the PAC playoffs that begin next week.
