How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Volleyball would open the day against the host, McDaniel. After dropping the opening set, the Barons would get in a groove to win three straight to defeat the Green Terror.
In the first set, McDaniel would jump out to a 7-1 lead. The Barons would battle back though, as they would tie it up quickly at 9-9.
Mary Jean Cadman and
Gabrielle Disselkamp each recorded a couple of kills while the Barons would keep it close at 17-17. Unfortunately the Green Terror would pull away late with a 5-0 run to take the first set, 25-19.
Set two would be the opposite, as it would be all Barons to start. Disselkamp had a pair of kills in an 8-2 run to start the set.
Elizabeth Luebbers and
Rani Hebert added a couple of kills to help Franciscan keep this one in total control. They won the set 25-16 to level the match at 1-1.
A back and forth start to set three would give us a score of 10-10. The Barons would see themselves trail 17-13, as Head Coach
Sean Cleary would call a timeout. The Barons would force some errors from the Green Terrors but not be able to put a dent in the lead. The score would be 18-22 in favor of the opponent. The Barons would go on an amazing 7-1 run, including an ace from
Grace Wallace to take the third set.
McDaniel would respond early in the fourth, as they took a 10-4 lead. The Barons would keep chipping away, as they would tie it up at 14-14. The score would be tied up again at 18-18 before a Franciscan 4-0 run with three kills in an ace would put this one on ice to give Franciscan their first win of the trip.

Sara Moore led the team with 19 digs, as she became the 5th player in program history to reach 1000 career digs.
- Luebbers and Disselkamp each registered 14.0 points.
- Hebert had six block assists
- McDaniel had 35 errors to 21 from Franciscan

How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Volleyball made it a clean sweep on the day, as they took down Wilson College in three sets on game two. 18 different Barons would get into the game with 13 different players registering a point.
The Barons won all three sets by the same score of 25-17.
Brynn Jacobson led the way with 11 kills and a .409 attack percentage.
Gianna Moore had five kills, while
Cora Mattson and
Angela Sweeney had a pair of aces. There would be several long runs by both teams in these three sets, including a Franciscan 11-0 run, their longest of the season.

Mary Smart had five.

- Franciscan had 32 kills and just 16 errors.
Who's Next?
Franciscan will return home to take on Saint Vincent on Tuesday night at 7pm in Finnegan Fieldhouse. The Barons and Bearcats did not play each other in the Bearcat Challenge to open the season, but this will be the first of two matchups this season. This one will be a non-conference contest. Franciscan is looking to snap a four-game losing skid against Saint Vincent. Their last win came in April of 2021 in a five set thriller. The Bearcats won the first two sets, but Franciscan would dig deep to win the final three sets.
