Youngstown, Ohio - The Barons got the 2023-24 season underway at the YSU Kickoff on Saturday afternoon at Mill Creek - North Course.

How it Happened
The Barons fielded a young lineup on Saturday with all but one player making their collegiate debut. It would be a tall task to play that first match in a talented field of Division I players, but the team did not fear the challenge. Brooke Biagi led the Barons with a 119. Emily Browne and Lauren David carded identical rounds of 138. Sarah Taylor shot a 147 in her first match to round out the top four scores for the Barons. Medalist honors would go to a player from Youngstown State that shot a four-under round of 68.

Up Next
Franciscan will have a couple weeks off to practice and prepare for their next match which will be at home on September 16th. They will host Grove City at Steubenville Country Club with a 1:30 p.m. start time. This will be a good reference on where Franciscan ranks up with the Wolverines just a few weeks into the season.
