Rani Hebert and
Annelise Davis led the offensive attack for the Barons, as they had double-digit kills.Â
The Lions would get the first point in this game, but it would be nearly all Barons after that. Hebert and Davis got the offense going early with a kill each in their 6-2 run. Hebert would have a pair of kills in consecutive points, as the Barons climbed the lead up to 15-9. A 4-0 run would be how the Barons would end it with two more kills from Hebert to take the first set by a score of 25-17.
Set two was the opposite start, as the Lions would have a 6-4 lead. The Barons would answer with a 6-0 run that included a pair of Hebert aces. A 4-0 Lions run would tie us back up at 10-10. The Barons would struggle while the Lions offensive would really be clicking in this set. Altoona would pull away to win this set by six points.Â
Franciscan would take advantage of some Altoona miscues early in set three to take a 7-1 lead. They would not squander this lead, as Hebert and Davis would step up once again. Set four would belong to Franciscan. A 6-0 run would be the spark to give the Barons all the momentum and a lead of 17-7. Cadman had four kills this set, as she helped push the Barons to a 25-13 set win to pick up win #1 for Head Coach
