Franciscan 5, Geneva 4
Doubles
   Head Coach
Tom Costello would use three different doubles pairings on Friday evening at Geneva. At #1 doubles,
Maria Herrera teamed up with
Delaney Dawson to win 8-1.
Olivia Colby dropped down to #2 doubles and joined Jordan Beltavksi. They would also ge the job down by winning 8-2.
Anna Glen and
Ellen Popp made their season debuts at #3 doubles. They battled in a back and forth match but would fall by a score of 8-4 to give Franciscan a 3-1 edge heading into singles.Â
Singles
Herrera would keep up her stellar run in PAC play with another straight sets win at the #1 spot. This win would also be one for the record books, as she became the all-time leader in combined wins in Franciscan history with 94 total wins. She passes the previous mark of 93 wins by Grace Hammel '20.Â
 Â
Olivia Colby was next to finish at the #2 spot with a straight sets win. That would give the Barons their fourth point, just one point away from another PAC win. Three new faces would be making their season debuts.
Hannah Franzone fell at #6 in straight sets, and
Anabel Stickney came back but fell in three sets at #5. Freshman
Lauren Schoenberger stepped up at #4 singles to win her first collegiate match and secure the Franciscan win.Â
Next Up
Franciscan was scheduled to take on Waynesburg on Saturday at home, but that match has been
POSTPONED. A makeup date is TBA. At the moment the Barons next scheduled matchup will be at Grove City on Friday October 6th. The Wolverines are currently unbeaten in PAC play, but they will face Allegheny, the other unbeaten on Tuesday to determine who will have the upper hand at the #1 seed.Â
