How It Happened 
    For the second season in a row, the Barons have taken on nationally ranked, Carnegie Mellon. They were preseason #8 in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches after making a run to the National Sweet 16 last season. 

    The Tartans showed off their skills quickly with a goal in the opening minute. They would remain on the offensive attack to tally on four more goals in the opening half. The Barons would have three shots on the day with Gabriella De La Torre taking the lone shot on goal. That shot came on a rebound after Tania Davidson's shot caught the post, as it looke d like Franciscan was going to get on the board. Carnegie Mellon would add on four goals in the second half to close this one out at 9-0

Inside the Numbers  
-Tania Davidson led the team with two shots.
- Rebekka Dill had four saves.
- Angelina Silva-Volner played a little over 37 minutes between the pipes while saving a pair of shots.

Who's Next? 
Franciscan will conclude a three game road stand on Saturday, as they take on Mount Union at 1 pm. The Barons and Purple Raiders have only played each other once with Mount Union winning 4-1 in 2017. They were picked to finish 7th in the Ohio Athletic Conference this season. The Purple Raiders are 1-1 thus far this season with a win over Waynesburg and loss to Grove City.

Women's Soccer ID Camp
Franciscan Women's Soccer is excited to offer an ID Camp for aspiring college athletes on Sunday, November 19th, 2023. Participants will have the opportunity to receive training from the women's soccer coaching staff, as well as interact with current players. Players will participate in a typical Franciscan training session and gain an understanding of the competitive and challenging environment of collegiate athletics. For more information click here
