Berea, Ohio -Â Franciscan Women's Tennis traveled to the campus of Baldwin Wallace for a neutral site matchup against St. Mary's (IN). The Barons would suffer their first loss of the season in a heartbreaking 5-4 finish.
Doubles
   Head Coach
Tom Costello selected the same doubles pairings that played last week in the win over Pitt.-Greensburg. The #1 doubles duo of
Maria Herrera and
Olivia Colby remained unbeaten with an 8-4 win.
Claire Cardie and
Veronica Saunders fell by the same score at #2 doubles.
Delaney Dawson and
Jordan Beltavski paired up at #3 doubles once again, but they fell 8-2.
Singles
 Â
Maria Herrera was the first Baron to earn a win in singles with her straight sets win at the #1 spot.
Olivia Colby would pick up the third point at #2 in a three set battle. The Barons would need to win the final two matches to pull off the win.
Veronica Saunders picked up her first singles win of the year at #6 in three sets, but
Margaret Vernau would drop in her three set battle.Â
Next Up
  The Barons will kick off PAC play next week, as they take on Saint Vincent in Latrobe on Wednesday. Historically the Barons have had the upper-hand on the Bearcats, as they are 7-0 all-time against them. Last season the Barons won 9-0 with all the singles matches ending in straight sets.Â
