How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Basketball hosted Bethany on Wednesday afternoon for a PAC matchup. The Barons would just have seven players dressed for this one, as the injuries have piled up a bit lately.
The Bison would control the opening quarters, as they shot 76.5% from the field to score 31 points. The second quarter would be a different story. Emma Clow would connect on a pair of three pointers in the first two minutes to cut into the lead. Ilena Gonzales would also add a three pointer as it would be a 12-2 run by the Barons to start the second quarter. Reedy would also connect on a pair of jumpers in the final minutes, as the Barons would outscore the Bison 18-12 in the second quarter to set the score at 43-29 at the half.
Unfortunately, the second half would start similar to the first half, as the Bison would shoot it well. They connected on five three pointers in the third quarter to regain a commanding lead. The Barons would show some fatigue late but battle hard till the end, as they fell 89-49.
Inside the Numbers
- Reedy led the way with 13 points for Franciscan.
- Mikayla Doan pulled in eight rebounds.

- The Bison shot 54.5% from the floor.
Up Next
Franciscan will make the trip to Latrobe to take on Saint Vincent on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Since joining the PAC for the 2020-21 season, the Bearcats have had the Barons' number. They have another talented roster in 2023-24 but are coming into this matchup on a three-game losing streak and on the outside of the PAC playoff picture. This is a pivotal matchup for both teams as they look to battle into the PAC Championship Tournament.
