How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Basketball hosted the Allegheny Gators on Saturday afternoon for a PAC conference matchup. A great game would ensue with back and forth action in the first half before the Gators would pull away in the second half.

The Barons would open up with a pair of buckets to take a 4-0 lead in this one. Allegheny would respond with a 10-0 run to get on the board and take the lead. Giuliana Biasutto would snap the run with her second made shot of the afternoon. The Barons would pull to within two after a Mikayla Doan made layup, but then end the opening quarter trailing by seven at 18-11.

Franciscan would regain the lead in the second quarter with a 9-0 run over two and a half minutes of play in the beginning of the second quarter. The Barons offense would go cold, as a 7-0 Gators run would give them the lead back. Biasutto would add a late bucket to set the score at 30-27 at the half. Biasutto led the Barons at the break with 11 points in 20 minutes played.

The Gators would make their move in the third quarter. The Barons would go cold from three point land while also having a couple of players get in foul trouble. The Barons would not quit though, as they put up 10 points in the final minutes of the fourth. Caroline Reedy connected on a pair of three pointers, Biasutto would make her second of the day. The Barons would fall 70-46.

Up Next
Franciscan will remain at home to take on Bethany on Wednesday afternoon. The Barons are looking to snap a seven-game skid against the Bison. These two teams played each other in November with the Bison winning 89-55. Lindsey Garrison set a new school record for Bethany with 10 made three point field goals, as the Bison made 19 three pointers as a team that day. The Barons will make the necessary adjustments for Wednesday which should be a great test against their local, rival.
