How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan and Thiel both entered today's matchup with 1-2 records in conference play. Winner of this game would have the head to head tiebreaker when it gets time to make the six-team PAC Championship Tournament at the end of the season. The Tomcats proved it on the court today, as they edged out a close victory in this one.
Cadman would have a pair of kills early in set number one, as the Barons took a three point edge at 7-4 after a
Mary Smart ace. That would be the largest lead by either team in this close-fought contest until Thiel would be up 19-16. The Barons tied it up with a 3-0 run that included a kill from
Angela Sweeney. On
Grace Wallace's serve the Barons reclaimed the lead and had a 23-20 lead.Â
The second set was very back and forth as well. The Tomcats were the first to 15 at 15-14. The Tomcats took the largest lead of this set at 21-17, but the Barons would answer with three straight points, including an ace from
Kaitlan Hickey. Franciscan stayed within one up until 23-22, but then Thiel scored two straight to close out the set.Â
Thiel took charge of the third set with an early five point lead and maintained it at 15-10. The Tomcats expanded that lead up to eight points at 22-14 and did not look back to close out this set and match with a 25-19 set score.

- Cadman and Disselkamp each had 10 kills.
- Disselkamp held a .292 attack percentage.
