How It Happened
Franciscan made the short-trip to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday afternoon for their first PAC conference matchup of the season. Things would not start well, as the Presidents would start the game on a 12-0 run.
Tessa Miller and
Ava King added kills on a 5-1 Franciscan run to end the opposition's run, but the Presidents would take the opening set 25-13.
The Barons would answer in the beginning of the second set, as they held the lead until it was tied at 12-12. It would be back and forth action until the Presidents would have an 18-15 lead. They would then end the send on a 7-0 run to take the 2-0 edge.
Franciscan would have their best start of a set, as they built a 13-7 lead with kills from five different players. Unfortunately, the Presidents would answer with a 6-0 run to tie it up at 13 all.
Elizabeth Luebbers would add a couple of kills for Franciscan to regain the lead at 19-17, but the Presidents would rally once more to regain the lead and close out the set.
Inside the Numbers
- Luebbers led the Barons with seven kills.
- Kaitlain Hickey had a pair of aces.
-
Grace Wallace led the team with 13 digs and 11 assists.
