How It Happened
Franciscan continued non-conference play on Wednesday evening as they hosted Wooster at Finnegan Fieldhouse. Caroline Reedy led the way with a career-high 23 points, but a second-half surge gave Wooster the win.

In the opening quarter, the Barons took their first lead on a tough, made layup from Jazzlyn Melnyk to set the score at 8-7. After a pair of made free throws from Maria McCallen the Barons led by three, but the Fighting Scots kept attacking. They flipped the score and led by five until Gemma Biasutto scored in the final seconds to end the quarter down by one, 19-18.

Franciscan came out in the second quarter ready to shoot. They shot 68.8% from the floor this quarter including five made three point field goals after just one made three in the opening quarter. Halfway through this quarter, the Barons led by nine, but the Fighting Scots came back. They cut it to a one-point game a little over a minute later, but the Barons answered with three pointers from Hughes and Reedy. Franciscan ran their lead back up to 10 points at 45-35 with 1:33 left in the half. At the half the score was 45-37 and the Barons shot 50% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

The Fighting Scots made their move in the third quarter, as they shot 50% from the floor to win the quarter by six points. That meant that Franciscan held a two point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Foul trouble was a major issue for teh Barons, as Jannuzi, McCallen, and Reedy all picked up their fourth foul which made things very tricky for Coach Iliana Spoelman. Halfway through the final quarter, the Barons trailed by two, but then the Fighting Scots ran the lead up to eight and did not look back. Franciscan cut it to four in the final minute, but Wooster held on to win by seven.
