The Latest
- Franciscan lost to Carlow on Saturday by a score of 55-74 in their first road test of the 2024-25 season. The Barons cut it to a one-point game late in the second quarter, but the Celtics pulled away with a big second half.

Maria McCallen led the way with 16 points before fouling out in the final minutes, and
Jazzlyn Melnyk filled the box score with eight points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and seven steals.

Scouting the Presidents
- Washington & Jefferson is 2-1 so far through three non-conference matchups. One of their wins came against #19 Baldwin Wallace. Â
- The Presidents were picked to finish second in the PAC via the Coaches' Preseason Poll. They held a 19-1 PAC record last season, as the PAC regular season champions, but then they fell to Chatham in the PAC Championship
- Four of their five primary starters are averaging double-digit points. Sophomore Jaden Wan is leading the way thus far with 15.7 ppg and nearly five made three-point field goals per game.

Melnyk Making Moves

Jazzlyn Melnyk jumped into 11th place in all-time scoring after the Carlow game. She now has scored 520 points,  Angela Starre '22 is 10th (554), as Melnyk looks to climb the ranks this season. Lacey Huck '15 is the all-time leading scorer with 1,344 points over four seasons in Steubenville.
- She sits in eighth with 303 rebounds on the Franciscan all-time list. Monica Dawyot '16 is one spot above her with 400 rebounds, and Lacey Huck '15 holds the all-time record with 853.
-Melnyk is 5th in all-time assists with 154 over her career. She is closing in on Gaby DeJesus '19 who is fourth all-time with 157. Monica Dawyot '16 holds the all-time record with 206.Â
- She is also in the Top 10 in steals in a career. She sits in sixth with 116 and is closing in on Head Coach,
Iliana Spoelman '16 (133) to move into fifth. Marian Weber '11 holds the all-time record with 161.

Moira Hughes have all seen significant minutes in their first collegiate seasons.
- Jannuzi had a breakout game at Carlow with a season-high 15 points with three made three-point field goals in her return to her home state.
Gonzales Keeps Climbing

Ilena Gonzales sits 17th all-time in scoring with 416 points. She looks to climb up the ranks by passing Amy O'Keefe who sits in 16th with 425 points.
- With 81 assists, she sits 17th all-time.
Natalie Conner '24 is one spot above her with 82, and Angela Starre '22 is in 15th with 83.Â
