"I am thrilled to welcome Tracy Guerrette as our next Head Women's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Ministry. Tracy brings the kind of extensive basketball experience at the DI and DIII levels as a player, coach, and administrator that will have transformative impact on the program immediately. More importantly, her deep background in Catholic ministry and the holistic formation of young people in body, mind, and spirit, as well as her personal dedication to a thoroughly Christ-centered athletic program, make her a perfect fit for the mission of Franciscan Athletics: Forming Disciples — Developing Leaders — Pursuing Excellence." - Athletic Director Danny Andersen

She comes to Franciscan with a rich background in playing, coaching, and leading athletes to Christ. She was a walk-on who earned a scholarship playing for the University of Maine. After graduation, she began coaching multiple sports at the high school level before becoming the head coach for the University of Maine Presque Isle Women's Basketball program. She led the helm for four years before re-joining her alma mater at the University of Maine as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations. Most recently Tracy has been part of FIERCE Athletics helping equip coaches through the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Tracy has a master's in Theology from Catholic University and is seeking her doctorate. Most recently, she has taken up running and after winning the 2017

As an athlete, Tracy identified that basketball and sport were avenues for faith to grow. Throughout her career she has shared her faith with teammates, coaches, and players, "sport is a catalyst for growth and holiness". Her love for coaching is embedded in the nuance of coaching as a Christian versus a secular way. Last fall she visited Franciscan through her role in FIERCE and fell in love with the campus and the athletes. Her aim is to bring her immense experience and coaching through servant leadership for the Franciscan Women's Basketball program. Romans 5:5 - This hope will not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. "Through coaching he pours out my love for them."
