Scouting the Warriors
- They will take on Lycoming College for the first time since 2009. In that matchup, the Warriors took down the Barons by a score of 84-53. Lycoming is coming off a 9-16 record in 2023-24 with five wins coming in conference play.Â
- Isaiah Valentine returns as one of the leading scorers from last year. The 6'2" guard played and started in all 25 games while averaging 12.2 points per game. He ended last season with three 20+ point performances in their last five games.

Steubnville's Own

Josh Zimmerman ranks 9th on the all-time scoring list that goes back to the College of Steubenville days. He enters the season with 1,133 points. Frank Sapienza '57 sits in eighth with 1,172 points. Sean Hickey '21 holds the Franciscan Division III record with 1,692 points, while Paul Brownlee '56 sits atop the all-time rankings with 2,433 points.
- He is closing in on becoming the all-time leader in assists. He sits in second with 255. With 23 assists this season, he will pass Jacob Divens '18 to become the program leader. That will be his second major program record, as he is the program all-time leader in steals with 185 coming into the year.
- He sits 15th all-time in rebounding with 577 boards. Brad Hall '79 sits one spot above him in fourteenth. Matt Trent '20 holds the Franciscan Division III record with 781 rebounds, and "Big" Jim Smith '58 sits atop the rankings and all levels of collegiate basketball with 2,334 rebounds.

Battling Barons
- With 40.8 rebounds per game, the Barons ranked second in the PAC last season. Thiel led the PAC with 42.4 per game. The Barons were also second in the league in steals per game at 9.04. Bethany led all teams with 10.31 per game

Newcomer of the Year

Sawyer Butler was named PAC Newcomer of the Year at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. He joined Nolan Albrecht as the only two Barons in program history to earn Conference Newcomer of the Year honors.Â
- His 329 points were the second most ever scored by a Franciscan freshman. His 64 steals were the most in a season by a Baron all-time, and his 2.9 steals per game was best in the PAC last season.
- Seven freshman are on the roster this season with hopes of having a breakout season like Butler did last season.
