The Latest
- The Barons made it two wins in a row by beating Thiel 58-54 in Steubenville to improve their record to 6-3 on the season.

- Sawyer Butler led the way with 22 points, including a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. Four of those makes were in the final minute to seal the deal for the Barons.

Scouting the Gators
- Allegheny enters this one with a 2-5 overall record, but they are coming off their first conference win of the season. Last Saturday, they beat Waynesburg 70-59. In that win, Luke Barker went off for 33 points, his second 30+ point game of the season. The Gators are 2-0 in games that he has scored 30 or more this season.

- The Gators have used the same starting five all season. Four of those players are averaging double-digit points, including Barker at 19.7 ppg.

- Their 79.2% from the free throw line as a team is the best in the PAC and 14th best in all of NCAA Division III.

Around the League
- Chatham suffered their first setback, as Grove City took them down by 10 points. Saint Vincent has won four straight, and Washington & Jefferson has won three straight. Geneva, who was picked to win the league, sits tied for 6th with Franciscan.

- The top six teams will make the PAC Championship Tournament which will take place on February 25th - March 1st.

Butler v. Barker
- Sawyer Butler leads the Barons in scoring at 18.9 ppg, which is second-best in the PAC. The lone man ahead of him is Allegheny's Luke Barker at 19.7 ppg.

- Last season, they squared off on the floor twice. In Steubenville, Butler scored 16 points to help the Barons win, while holding Barker to three points and four turnovers. At Alelgheny last season, Butler scored 22 points to Barker's 12 points, but the Gators won this meeting

- Butler's next point will be the 500th of his career in his 32nd game played of his collegiate career. 

Keep on Winning
- With a win on Saturday at Allegheny, the Barons will already have a pair of winning streaks of three or more games this season. They have not had that in a season since the 2018-19 season. That season, they went 13-14 with a 9-9 record in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC)

One of the PAC's Best Defenses
- Franciscan has allowed 66.7 ppg, second best in the conference so far. They have held their opponents to 28.1% shooting from beyond the arc, second-best in the conference and the third-worst overall field goal percentage at 41.2%. 
 
Mr. Zimmerman Tracker
- Josh Zimmerman enters this game with 1,241 points to have the seventh most all-time. Don Rogich '79 sits in sixth with 1,394 points. Sean Hickey '21 holds the Franciscan Division III record with 1,692 points, and Paul Brownlee '56 sits atop the all-time rankings with 2,433 points.

-Zimmerman holds a pair of program records. He is top in all-time assists with 28, and he is the program's all-time leader in steals with 213.

- He sits 13th all-time in rebounding with 625 boards. Fr. Tim Hirten '75 is one spot above him with 627 boards over his four years in Steubenville. Matt Trent '20 holds the Franciscan Division III record with 781 rebounds, and "Big" Jim Smith '58 sits atop the rankings and all levels of collegiate basketball with 2,334 rebounds.

- At Saint Vincent, Josh played in his 100th game of his career. Dating back to 1946, he is the 11th Baron to do so while playing in Steubenville. Jim Smith '58 holds the program record by playing in 113 games over his four-year career.
