How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Basketball hosted Waynesburg on an Ash Wednesday evening in Finnegan Fieldhouse. The Barons would keep it close early before the Yellow Jackets would go on a tear from behind the arc.
A back-and-forth start would set the score at 10-10 through seven minutes of play on Kuzma Court. Mikayla Doan scored the last six points for Franciscan to set the score at 14-16 to have a slight deficit heading into the second quarter. Emma Clow had five assists on seven made field goals in the opening quarter. In the second quarter, the Yellow Jackets would get hot from deep, as they made six of their nine attempts. They would shoot 66.7% from three in the opening half with eight made. That would help them expand their lead up to 38-21 at the half.
Waynesburg would stay hot in what would turn out to be a historic shooting day for them. A 14-4 run to open the second half would grow their lead. The Barons would tally 26 points in the second half, but the Yellow Jackets offense would be too much. They shot 66.7% from three on the night with 18 made attempts.

On the court, the Barons are looking to take down the Bearcats, who got the better of them in their previous matchup.
