How It Happened
For game 1 of the day, the Barons were shutout by Clarks Summit. Maxwell and Kozares each registered a hit, but were the only two to get on base for the day. Errors plagued the Barons ability to stay within striking distance. In the bottom of the 1st, an error brought a runner from first to third, then that runner scored on a passed ball. After the passed ball run, Clark Summit hit a one shot homer to put the Barons down 2-0. The remaining 6 innings were a tight 1-0 contest, but the batters couldn't find a rhythm to get back into the game.

-Starter Fluharty pitched 6 innings allowing 3 hits and 2 earned runs. She added 8 strikeouts to an impressive start to her career.

Up Next
Franciscan will conclude their Myrtle Beach trip with a doubleheader on Friday. They will take on SUNY-Delhi in the morning and Notre Dame (MD) in the afternoon. The Barons have never played either of these teams before, but they should be two good tests to further prepare them for PAC play upon their return to the Ohio Valley.
