Doubles
Doubles would be a good start for Franciscan, as they won two of the three matches.
Maria Herrera and
Kina Ehlers continued to get better as a doubles team, as they won 8-1 at the #1 spot.
Jordan Beltavski and
Delaney Dawson won a close-fought match at #2 by a score of 8-6.
Hazel Mistry and
Maggie Gallagher barely fell at #3 by a score of 8-5.
Singles
Lauren Schoenberger pulled off an impressive win at the #5 spot. She lost the first set 6-1, but then won the second 6-4. She kept up that momentum to a 10-4 tiebreaker win. Unfortunately, that would be the last Baron victory. Herrera narrowly dropped in three sets at the #1 spot.
Next Up
Franciscan will conclude their time in Florida with a match on Friday against Macalester. This will be their first match of the trip to be played at the USTA Center. These two teams have never played each other, but it looks to be a solid test to end the trip.
