Biagi Resets Her Own Record in Bison Win

Franciscan 21, Bethany 11

Franciscan Starters
Mary Bohli, Joanna Hilkert, Brooke Biagi, Bronwyn McGovern, Carolyn Cooke, Kiera Wilson, Ashley Morisey, Moira Hughes, Veronica Sims, Theresa Lyle, Katheryn Brehm, & Goalkeeper Cecilia Downs

How It Happened
On the road and trying to secure the last PAC playoff spot, the Barons found themselves in an early deficit. The Bison took an early two goal lead. After that point the Barons turned on the jets and took over the game. They scored five unanswered goals. The fourth goal of the night for the Barons would be a special one, as Joanna Hilkert became the fifth player in program history to reach 100 goals.

After that goal scoring spurt, the Barons held onto their lead and never looked back. Keeping leads is a lot easier when you start with the ball after every goal scored. Thanks to very good midfielders and Biagi's prowess for draw controls, the Bison had little opportunities. Even if they scored on every shot on goal and the Barons Downs just took a nap in net, the Bison still would have lost by four. With Biagi hauling in 20 draw controls, she resets her own single game program record and passes her coach, and Baron legend Grace Deegan, to be 3rd all-time in career draw controls. Biagi is now 34 draw controls behind 2nd all-time.

Inside the Numbers
-Downs recorded 6 saves in her first collegiate game in the net to get the win.
-Brehm had a career-high nine points with four goals and five assists.
-Hilkert ties her career-high with 6 goals
-Morisey had a team-high 3 caused turnovers, and led the Barons with 5 ground balls
