How It Happened
Franciscan Men's Lacrosse made the trip to Allegheny for their 2024 season finale against the Gators. It would take the Barons offense some time to get going, as Richard Vale II would actually score the first goal after a successful clear in the second quarter. James Masso would add a pair of goals in the second quarters, and Gavin Cook would add one in the final minutes of the half as well. Joseph James would add his lone goal to start the second half, but that would be it for the Franciscan offense today, as Allegheny's defense would prevail.
It was not how the Barons had hoped their season would end, but still it was a very productive season. The Barons won 10 games to hold a 10-7 record for the most wins in program history. They also may take home a couple of NCAA Division III statistical records, but they will have to wait and see if those will hold up over the coming weeks.
Inside the Numbers
- Masso led the Barons with a pair of goals.
- Vale had 25 saves, his third 20+ save game of the season.
- Vale also had a team-high 13 ground balls, which would also be a season-high for him.
