Franciscan 7, Waynesburg 0

    Not only is a 7-0 sweep impressive, but in the 9 matches the Barons only dropped three set points. They swept two of the doubles matches 6-0. Then the #1, 3, 5 and 6 hitters each swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0. It is an impressive team win by a team that showed off it's depth just a few days prior in their JV match with Allegheny. For the last four years, the Barons were feared because of the prestige that Maria Herrera brought to opponents. Even though this team lost the best tennis player the Barons have ever seen, this year their strength is highly skilled players all the way down the lineup. With their first conference win out of the way, it seems like it will be very difficult for any opponent to take the doubles point or the #4, 5, and 6 singles points. 

Next Up
    Franciscan will return home to take on Baldwin Wallace on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Barons are 3-1 all-time against the Yellow Jackets with wins in their previous matchups. Two years ago, the Barons made the trip up north and won 8-1. They swept the singles matches with two of them going to three sets. Baldwin Wallace enters this match with an 0-1 record, as they lost to Washington & Jefferson last weekend.
