How It Happened
The Franciscan offense has been improving with each game, and in this contest they out-shot their opponents 17-13. However, the Pitt-Greensburg opportunities were higher quality. They managed 10 SOG compared to our 8. That quality difference was the difference in the game. The Barons were blanked on the board despite their efforts on the offensive end.
Inside the Numbers
-PBrenna Pereira, Teaghan Elmore, and Eva Dexter had team-high 2 SOG
-Dexter led the Barons in total shots with 7
-DIll recorded 6 saves
-Natalia Capaccio saw the field for her first time and recorded a save
Who's Next?
Franciscan will continue return home to take on Otterbein at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the first time that they take on the Cardinals in program history. The Cardinals are off to a very impressive start with four shutouts already through non-conference play. This will be another tough, non-conference test for the Barons, as they will focus on PAC play the rest of the way after this contest.
