How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan Women's Volleyball made the two-hour trip to Kenyon on Saturday morning, and they would be greeted by a familiar foe. In game one, they would take on Pitt.-Greensburg, who they beat in four sets on September 7th. It would only take three sets today, as the Barons would extend their winning streak to six in a row, the longest winning streak in program history.
The Barons would take an early 8-4 lead over teh Bobcats in set number one. They would turn that lead into an overwhelming one with a 6-0 run, that included a pair of kills from
Elizabeth Luebbers and
Gabrielle Disselkamp. A 5-0 run with three kills in a row from Cadman would end the opening set by a score of 25-12.
The second set would be much closer, as it would be tied at 11-11. A pair of kills from Cadman and an ace from
Kaitlan Hickey would give the Barons a small lead. The Bobcats would battle to pull within one at 18-17, but the Barons would finish them off with a 7-1 run.
Gabrielle Disselkamp,
Tessa Miller,
Angela Sweeney, and
Clare Karr would all record kills in a total team effort during that run to close out the second set.Â
Cadman would continue her strong offensive day with a couple of kills in th early going of the third set to give Franciscan the lead.
Madison Doan and
Ava King would add a pair, as the Bobcats' defense would not know where the offense was coming from next. Just like the second set, a 7-1 run would help the Barons close it out, by a score of 25-13.

How It HappenedÂ
Why not make it seven in a row, as the Barons make it a sweep of the Kenyon tri-match by defeating the hosts in the second game.
The Barons kept up the momentum from the first game, as they took a 10-3 edge in the opening set. Cadman and Disselkamp each had a pair of early kills to get the offense going.
Kaitlan Hickey had two of her team-high five service aces in the opening set, as the Barons kept their foot on the gas. The Eagles would make a small run late, but the Barons would take the opening set 25-19.
The Eagles took full advantage of some Baron miscues to start the second set with a 13-3 edge. The lead was too much to over come, as the Barons would lose their first set in over 10 days. Kenyon won 25-13.
After a
Sarah Clyde ace, the Barons held a 6-4 edge in the third set, but then the Eagles took the next five points to take the lead. The Barons rallied with a 4-0 run, that included three kills from Cadman to regain the lead at 12-11. The Barons offense dominated the later parts of this set with a 7-1 run to close it out. In that run, Cadman had three more kills and Disselkamp added a pair.Â
The fourth set, started similar to the second set, as Kenyon would take a 12-5 edge. They maintained that seven point edge at 15-8, but then Cadman got a kill and the momentum swung.
Sara Moore would serve for 11 straight points to take the lead at 20-15. Franciscan had all the momentum now and closed out the match with a kill from
Elizabeth Luebbers, 25-19.
