How It Happened
Miller and King each had a kill, as the Barons took a 3-1 lead in set one. Cadman would get going with a pair of kills before King would add three more to stretch the lead to 13-10. The Bobcats would then go on a 5-0 run to take the lead for the first time today. A Franciscan 4-0 run that included a pair of Sara Moore aces would give Franciscan the lead back at 17-15.Then a Bobcat 7-0 run would give the hosts all the momentum they would need to close out the opening set.

Coach Jen Hickey would rally the Barons, and they would respond in a big way in the second set. With a score of 2-2, the Barons would go on an 8-0 run to take a commanding lead. The Bobcats would pull to within five at 15-10, but the Barons would close out the set with runs of 4-0 and 6-0 to win 25-11.

The Barons would capitalize on their new-found momentum going into the third set. It would be all Franciscan, as Mary Jean Cadman had five kills, and Elizabeth Leubbers added four in this dominant 25-9 Franciscan win.

The Bobcats would attempt to rally in the fourth, as it would be tied at 15-15. The Bobcats held an 18-17 lead, but then a kill from Gabirielle Disselkamp would tie it back up. She would then serve for three straight points with one being an ace. The Bobcats would not take the lead back, as a kill from Cadman would close this set out 25-20.
