- The Barons opened the season 1-1 at the Roos Classic in Canton
- After dropping their first game against SUNY Canton 86-70, they responded with a 72-48 win over SUNY Delhi the next day
- Jazzy Melnyk led the way with 13.5 points per game and 15.0 rebounds per game
- Caroline Reedy also added 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds 
- Melnyk broke the program record for career steals in the loss to SUNY Canton

- In their first game this season, they escaped with a 59-58 win over La Roche

- The Barons are 3-6 all-time against the Fighting Scots, winning two of the last three matchups
- Last season, Wooster captured a 71-64 victory
- Caroline Reedy led the way with 23 points and 11 rebounds in that game

Melnyk Filling up the Box Score
- Jazzlyn Melnyk returns for a fifth season in Steubenville.
- She sits 5th all-time in scoring, as she has scored 750 points. Sarah Schriner sits 4th all-time with 793 points.
- Melnyk holds the program record for most assists by a Baron with 213 and now holds the program record in steals with 166 after her performance over the weekend
- Her 634 rebounds are the second most in program history. She currently leads the PAC in rebounding at 15.0 rpg. Over the weekend, she passed Marian Weber, who was in second with 629. Lacey Huck holds the record at 853 over her collegiate career.
 
Reedy Climbing the Ranks
- Caroline Reedy has 552 points scored in her Franciscan career. That sits her 14th on the all-time rankings.
- Angela Starre sits 13th in all-time scoring at 554 points, and Kaitlyn Sonneberger is 12th at 556 points.
- She is also among the Top 20 all-time in program history in rebounding, assists, and steals, as she has been a major contributor in all areas. 

Newcomers Making Noise
- Several freshmen made an impact in the opening weekend.
- Magdalen Simon and Lucy Wilkinson started each game. Simon scored 17 points against SUNY Canton.
- Isa Saez-Pedraza scored 10 points in 17 minutes against SUNY Delhi, and Hannah Johnson added eight points in that win.
