Steubenville, Ohio - The Allegheny Rugby Union (ARU) released their All-Conference honors via their Facebook page on Saturday. The National Championship-winning Barons set a program record with eight players earning All-Conference honors.
The Barons also swept the major awards.
Lex Lang (Fr. San Diego, Calif. / Gregory the Great Academy) was named Co-Player of the Year.
Jason Adams earned ARU Division III Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his career.
Christopher Ascough (So. Loughlinstown, Dublin / Mother of Divine Grace) and
Joseph Moleski (So. Carrollton, Texas / St. Martin's Academy) joined Lang as three backs earned this honor.
Abraham Schmiesing (Jr. Sidney, Ohio / St. Gregory's Academy),
Dominic Grecol (Fr. Strongville, Ohio / Ohio Connections Academy),
Jacob Leerkes (Jr. Ypsilanti, Mich. / Homeschool),
Paul Leerkes (So. Ypsilanti, Mich. / Homeschool), and
Peter Rooney (So. Noblesville, Ind. / Guerin Catholic) were the five forwards to earn recognition.
Moleski and
Jacob Leerkes are now 2x ARU All-Conference players. Six of the eight honorees are underclassmen and none are seniors, as the National Champions will return a talented squad in 2026.
