How It Happened
Morning Prelims
Avery Schmitz was the first Baron in the pool, as she placed 19th in the 400 IM. Four Barons qualified for the evening finals in the 100 butterfly. Bridget Bartosik was the fastest, as she placed ninth with a time of 1:06.72. Jessica Stiles, Sydney McGee, and Ramona DiNardo placed 14th, 15th, and 16th to take the final three spots.

Katarina Antonov and Kate Kinst kept up the successful morning by qualifying in the 200 freestyle. They will be seeded ninth and tenth. Antonov swam a time of 2:05.17, and Kinst swam the event in a time of 2:06.63. Emma Grojean will swim this evening in the 100 breaststroke, as she placed 13th with a time of 1:17.15. Last but not least, Jessica Stiles and Sophia Gellner qualified in the 100 backstroke, as they placed 14th and 16th to make the evening finals.

Evening Finals
Three Barons earned points in the 100 butterfly, as Stiles, McGee, and DiNardo held their seeded positions and finished 14th, 15th, and 16th. The Barons got even more points in the next event, as Katarina Antonov and Kate Kinst placed 9th and 10th in the 200 freestyle. They both improved upon their times from the morning prelims.

Emma Grojean improved her time in the 100 yard breaststroke but retained her place of 13th to tack on some more points. Jessica Stiles and Sophia Gellner held their prelim seeding to place 14th and 16th in the 100 backstroke.

The final event of the night was the 200 freestyle relay. The relay team of Katarina Antonov, Bridget Bartosik, Sophia Gellner, and Kate Kinst placed 6th with a time of 1:45.66. That broke the program record time that was set in 2023, which was a relay team that included Antonov, Kinst, and Bartosik. The second relay team placed 12th. That team consisted of Rachel Pergi, Sydney McGee, Emma Grojean, and Cecilia White

The Barons remain in 7th place after the completion of Day #3, but are in a close pack of teams that could see their rankings get shuffled up after the final day.

Up Next
The final day of the PAC Swimming and Diving Championships will be a busy one for the Barons.
