How It HappenedÂ
The Barons close their regular season out against the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes. Both teams have their place in the PAC playoffs locked. With a loss, the Tornadoes fall below the Barons into 6th place, but a win they jump Grove City into 4th. A win for the Barons means pulling into 5th and facing a quarterfinal game vs Grove City. A loss puts them on the road against W&J for the quarterfinals.
Geneva is usually known for their prolific offense, but this year their defense is near the top of the league. They held the Barons to just 15 points in the first half. Our team made the necessary adjustments and the scoring in the second half picked up, but the gap to overcome was to much to comeback from and grab a win.Â
Inside the NumbersÂ
-Only two Barons were in double-digit scoring
-Butler & J. Zimmerman led the team with 7 rebounds a piece
-One of the cleanest games this season with a total of 16 turnovers (9 Baron and 7 Tornado)
Up NextÂ
Franciscan will make the trip on Tuesday to play #3 Washington & Jefferson in the PAC Quarterfinal. The Barons went 0-2Â against them in the regular season.Â
