How It Happened
"HEY KIMMY, HEY KIMMY, KIMMY, HEY!" The exhilarating chant ringing across the field at the much anticipated return of Kimmy McDaniels. The two-time 1st team all-conference and former PAC Player of the Year has returned to Franciscan softball after spending her junior season at the Austria program. Her commanding presence left viewers with anxious anticipation over what she could bring to the team after not playing for two years and missing opening week in Myrtle Beach. Her first at bat, her first pitch, and she cranked the ball deep to left field for a two run shot home run laying to rest any curiosity for what impact she will bring the team.
Kimmy batted fourth in the lineup and her home run already had the Barons up 3-0. The offense continued to get their bat on the ball and take advantage of poor defensive play. They scored five runs in the first and third innings and then an incredible nine runs in the fourth. For the second time this year the Barons have run-ruled their opponent.
