How It Happened
  The top of the Barons' batting lineup gave consistent play getting 5 runs and their defense was significantly improved from earlier in the season. Only committing 2 errors, but the Bison got their bats on the ball consistently racking up 11 runs.
  It was a close game early. In the middle of the 4th, the Barons were down 2-3, but disaster struck in the bottom of the inning with the Barons allowing 8 runs. They held the Bison for the rest of the game and scored a few more runs, but not enough to overcome the big lead.Â

  The Barons gave up a similar number of runs in game 2, but the Bison tightened down on McDaniels, Davis, and Winner. Davis and McDaniels only saw 2 at bats limiting their impact. Subsequently the Barons tallied 3 runs leading to the game ending in 5 innings.

The Barons are 3-8 all-time against the Tomcats, as they are looking to snap a four-game losing streak to them on Tuesday. The Barons' last win against them came in Greenville by a score of 1-0 in 2021. That game went nine innings, and Lilly Wahl pitched a complete game shutout with six strikeouts. Andi Queen drove in Rachel Cooper in the ninth for the lone run of the game.Â
