Ellwood City, Pa. - Franciscan Women's Golf began the 2025 calendar year with a dual against Geneva at Connoquenessing Country Club. A blustery day with steady winds of 20 mph led to tough playing conditions for this match.

Catherine Ehresman led the Barons with a 104 to kick off her 2025 spring season and lead the young lineup. She placed second out of the 10 competing athletes. Lauren David carded a 113, as a veteran in today's lineup. Katie Black shot a 119 in this match near her hometown. Chloe Puhl rounded out the top four with a 129. That resulted in the Barons shooting a 465 as a team. Helena O'Meara played a the five spot for her first collegiate match.Madison Sharek took medalist honors with an 88 to lead the Golden Tornadoes to victory.

Franciscan will return to action at Grove City on April 3rd at Grove City Country Club. The Barons placed 11th there last fall in their Invitational. Catherine Ehresman led the way with an 86, as she finished T15th in field of 71 players.
