How It Happened
Franciscan Men's Lacrosse returned home to take on Allegheny on Wednesday night. This was the first conference game for both teams, as they entered with similar records through non-conference play. The Gators jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, and they did not relinquish it the rest of the night.
Rakis scored the first three goals of the night for Allegheny to give them a 3-0 lead before Dominic Scordino got the Barons on the board. In the final minute of the quarter, Joseph James scored his first of the night to end the opening quarter with a score of 7-2. Eli Everts, Joseph James, and Nathaniel Carter scored goals early in the second quarter to cut the deficit to three goals at 8-5. The Gators answered with five consecutive goals to close out the first half with a lead of 13-5.
Defense and longer possessions were the story of the second half, as Allegheny made it difficult on the Barons by using nearly a full 80-second possession clock each-and-every possession. Carter scored the lone goal from Franciscan in the third, but the Gators were able to expand the lead. James added a pair of goals late in the fourth quarter, but the Gators killed the clock well and sat on their large lead from the first half.

- Joseph James led the Barons with six points, including four goals.
