How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan hosted the St. Vincent Bearcats for their 2025 Senior Day. The midfielders dominated the field grabbing doulbe the draw controls as the Bearcats. The opponents made the best of their chances early beginning the game trading a couple of goals with the Barons, but midway through the 1st the Barons opened it up going on an 8-0 scoring run stretching into the early-2nd quarter.Â
The disciplined Baron squad benefited from the excessive Bearcat penalties scoring six man up goals. Late in the second half, Cooke was given her second yellow card and was forced to sit the rest of the game. Even down a player, the Barons outscored the Bearcats 2-1 in the final nine minutes.
The scoring was highlighted by newcomer Dinoto. After setting the program record for points in a game earlier in the week, she broke another Grace Deegan record by scoring 9 goals in yesterday's game. Her 15 draw controls is the third best single-game performance for the program.
Inside the NumbersÂ
- Dinoto's 9 goals is a single game program record
-Lyle had a game-high 6 ground balls
-Wilson was a perfect 2 for 2 in free position attempts
-Mary Smith recorded 3 saves
