Franciscan 4, Geneva 3
Steubenville, Ohio - The Barons concluded the regular season with their fourth win in a row, as they beat Geneva on a beautiful day in Steubenville. The Barons were up 4-0 before falling in the final three matches. With the win, the Barons claim the #3 seed in the upcoming PAC Championship and will host a Quarterfinal match on April 22nd.
Doubles
   First off the court was the duo of
Aidan Palladino and
David Bourdelais. They secured a commanding 6-2 win to set the tone.
Aaron Heinlein and
Christopher Yvars followed suit with a 6-2 win of their own at #1 to secure the doubles point.
Joel Capelli and
David Drejza trailed 5-2 at #3, and they battled back hard but fell 6-4.Â
Singles
   Yvars and Heinlein kept up their impressive play with 6-0, 6-0 wins at #4 and #2 to give the Barons a 3-0 edge.
David Drejza earned the match-clinching point at #6 in his straight-sets victory. The remaining three matches were close with two going to a third set tiebreaker, but the Golden Tornadoes won all three to have a final score of 4-3.Â
Next Up
  Franciscan will have to wait and see how the rest of the PAC matches go the rest of the week to know their official matchup for the PAC Championship Tournament. The #1 and #2 seeds will earn a bye and host the Semifinals on Thursday, April 24th. The #3 and #4 seeds will host the Quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 22nd. The Championship is scheduled to be played on Saturday, April 26th with the winner earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament in May.
